World Checklist of Malvaceae:
Notes

Byttneroideae: Theobromeae

Kubitzki and Bayer [1] recognise 4 genera in this tribe. It is possible that Herrania is nested within Theobroma [2] (not seen), but as the current evidence for this is at best weak, a separate Herrannia is maintained here..

Glossostemon

Only a single species has been described in Glossostemon, so there is no problem identifying all currently accepted species of this genus.

Guazuma

Herrania

Theobroma

Theobroma was revised in 1964 by Cuatracasas [3]. No later names have been published in this genus, and the list of species in the genus is taken from that work.

Byttneroideae: Byttnerieae

Byttneroideae: Hermannieae

Byttneroideae: Lasiopetaleae

The tribe Lasiopetaleae is almost exclusively Australian, and hence the great majority of species here can be identified from state and territory plant checklists. The remaining species are identifed from Madagascar [4] and New Caledonia [5] checklists, and from references to recent publications in IPNI [1].

Commersonia

As no complete Queensland checklist is readily available a number of species recently described by Guymer [6, 7] (not seen) and by Wilkins and Whitlock [8] (not seen) are taken from IPNI [1].

Guichenotia

Hannafordia

Keraudrenia

Lasiopetalum

Lysiosepalum

Maxwellia

Rulingia

Seringia

Thomasia
